I join thousands of your worldwide followers and admirers to celebrate with you on your 70th birthday. To those of us who were at an early age in life, fortunate to be addicted to reading the Guardian newspaper since its inception in 1983, you made our world richer with wisdom, especially in the nitty-gritty of public policy and purposeful governance.
You were in the same category as the late Professor Ojetunji Aboyade, the erudite Political Economist of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. The usual full-page essay, most often on page three of the Guardian, reputed by the two of you, intensified my interest in government and public administration.
From you, I learned the rudimentary of accountability, factual analysis, and standing for the truth. May you live long to witness the rebirth and transformation of Nigeria in the image and status you have always written about and wanted it to be, in Jesus Christ's Mighty Name I made this declaration. Amen. Happy 70th birthday, once again, Sir.
