SCANDAL: THE SEARCH FOR ACCOUNTABILITY IN OUR STATE CAPITALS. November 21, 2022

The time has come for all the youths of Niger Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, and all the states that benefited from President Buhari Bailout Funds as well as the accumulated Derivative Funds, to rise up and demand their State Governors to give account. The appalling state of infrastructural facilities, specifically, road networks in Delta State is enough to disqualify Governor Okowa as a Vice Presidential candidate.
Governor Wike of Rivers State and Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom have demonstrated admirably in recent times with the massive road construction works, industries, and infrastructural developments in their respective states that public funds are not needed for their material composition but what they can accomplish.
At least N1bn of the amounts disbursed to the Edo State Government would be enough to fix the now totally collapsed Ekpoma/Irrua/Ewu axis of the Benin Auchi highway, assuming Governor Obaseki of Edo State is still strategizing with his economic team on what to do with our shares. It's immaterial that it's a federal highway.
I fervently believe the time is now for accountability enforcers - EFCC, ICPC, the DSS, and the office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice to step in. And it's time President Buhari's team starts speaking out, not when the Governors are out of power.
