AGBETOKUN: AN UNMATCHED PROFILE FOR A NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER OR MINISTER OF DEFENSE June 21, 2023

With his academic credentials and professional background, he is the type of an Officer that American President would readily pick as the National Security Adviser or the Secretary of Defense. Those positions are more challenging or befitting of his background than being an IGP.

Anyway, I pray he introduces a 24/7 nationwide Highway Patrol, fully equipped with state-of-the-art telecom gadgets and modern weapons, with a view to eliminating the suffocating economic menace called "roadblock" or Police checkpoints on our highway, especially the Ore/Benin City axis of the Lagos/Benin City expressway.
How can you explain a checkpoint at every 30-second drive on that axis? And how can you explain the presence of about three Customs checkpoints between Ore and Uniben Gate on the same axis? Customs personnel ought to be at the border posts and international airports not on highways within the cities.
