IT TAKES COURAGE AND AUDACITY TO OPPOSE A POPULAR VIEW: June 02, 2023

Which Side Were You Eleven Years Ago (2012) During the "OCCUPY NIGERIA" Protest Match and Petroleum Subsidy Removal Debate?
I remember where I was. I stood for values. My conscience wouldn't let me do otherwise. And I supported the removal. Please, find below, my views posted on SaharaReporters and on my blog, Hamiltonatlarge.blogspot.com during the turbulent period.
"It is economically stupid for the Federal government [of Nigeria] to continue to subsidize importation of fuel for the people in the private sector while they [the private sector] reap millions of dollars in profit." Barr Alex Ehi Aidaghese, Hamiltonatlarge.blogspot.com and SaharaReporters, January 5, 2012 - 16:06.
"During the sit-in-protest that heralded the reported removal of petroleum subsidy by President Goodluck Jonathan in January this year, my concern was the long-term implications of the removal. I supported the removal, believing in my mind that something is inherently wrong somewhere that is preventing us from reaping the reward of the subsidy. The inability of the administration and those before it to eliminate the loopholes in the regulatory framework makes the continuation of the subsidy economically imprudent."Barr Alex Ehi Aidaghese, Hamiltonatlarge.blogspot.com, May 09, 2012
